About This Event
The Bebbanburg Market brings the world of Bernard Cornwell's The Last Kingdom to life at its real-world inspiration, Bamburgh Castle. "Bebbanburg" is the Anglo-Saxon name for Bamburgh, the ancestral fortress of the novels' hero Uhtred, and the castle leans fully into this connection with a season-long Last Kingdom exhibition featuring original costumes, props and Uhtred's iconic sword. Merchants from across the Anglo-Saxon and Viking kingdoms gather for two immersive days of historical trading, live craft demonstrations, and storytelling. Visitors can browse bustling stalls filled with authentic period wares, watch traditional crafts brought to life, and soak up the atmosphere of one of England's most dramatic castle settings.
