About This Event
The HandleBards are the world's first cycling theatre company — a three-strong troupe who carry all their set, props, and costumes on the back of their bikes, performing environmentally sustainable Shakespeare across the UK. Their Macbeth is a frantic, delirious, full-of-beans show that forgets the tears and tragedy of the traditional play in favour of riotous energy, a fair whack of chaos, and a great deal of laughter. Performed in the spectacular grounds of Alnwick Castle, this is outdoor theatre at its most joyful. Bring a blanket or camping chair and prepare for Shakespeare like you've never seen it before.
