About This Event

Now a fixture of the Northumberland summer, the Rothbury Traditional Music Festival brings three days of pipes, fiddles, bodhran, guitars, folk song and Northumbrian dialect poetry to this pretty village in Coquetdale. Running since the 1970s, it is one of the region's most cherished grassroots celebrations of traditional music. The programme mixes ticketed concerts with informal pub sessions, workshops, a rant (dance), and open-mic opportunities, spilling out across the village hall, churches and inns of Rothbury. It's a friendly, family-welcoming weekend where seasoned players and curious newcomers rub shoulders — bring an instrument and you may well find yourself joining in.
