This is one of two Cancer Research UK shops in Alnwick, occupying premises at 2 Narrowgate near the top of the historic street that leads down towards the Castle. It is quite distinct from the charity's other Alnwick branch on Bondgate Within, so the two should not be confused. Like all Cancer Research UK shops, it is run largely by volunteers and every sale helps fund the charity's life-saving work into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer.

The shop stocks a rotating selection of donated goods, including men's, women's and children's clothing, accessories, homeware, linens, books, CDs, DVDs and selected small electricals. It is unable to accept large appliances, damaged goods or furniture. Donations can be bagged up and dropped in during opening hours, and the charity notes that the average donated bag can be worth around £25 to its work. Shoppers are encouraged to share their finds on social media using #CRUKFinds, and volunteering opportunities are available for anyone wanting to get involved.
