Castleview Care Home occupies a quiet corner of the historic market town of Alnwick, on Howling Lane roughly a third of a mile from the town centre. Operated by Ascot Care, the purpose-built home accommodates up to 49 residents aged 55 and over, with 46 single bedrooms and one shared room. Communal facilities include several lounges and dining rooms, a sensory lounge, a conservatory and an on-site hair salon, while outdoors there are courtyards with patio furniture, a greenhouse and raised planting beds. The building has lift access throughout and is fully wheelchair accessible.

Rated Good by the Care Quality Commission, Castleview provides residential, nursing and dementia care alongside short-stay services including respite, day care, convalescent and palliative care, coordinated with Northumberland County Council. Home-cooked meals are prepared daily from seasonal menus catering for a range of dietary needs, and activity coordinators run adapted exercise, arts and animal therapy sessions and outings. The home operates a pet-friendly policy and is a member of the Enabling Research in Care Homes (ENRICH) Network.
