Corporate Christmas Party Venues in Alnwick

Alnwick sells the work Christmas do three ways: a seat at a shared party night, a room of your own in town, or a country house a short drive out. Published prices, real capacities, and how everybody gets home from a town with no railway station.

Alnwick.live·

Alnwick is a market town, not a city, so the work Christmas do is a different job here. No cluster of joiner nights, no festive marquee operator. What there is: two hotels selling shared nights at a published price, a castle and a garden pavilion with genuinely large rooms, pubs that will take a table of twenty, and country houses a short drive out. Headcount first, then shared night or a room of your own.

Shared party nights, with a published price

The White Swan Hotel on Bondgate Within runs the only town-centre party-night programme. Its Classic Christmas Party Nights are Saturday 28 November and 12 and 19 December 2026 at £42 per person, three courses with a resident DJ until midnight, and a Live Singer and Disco night on Saturday 5 December is £49. Festive lunches (£29) and dinners (£35) run daily to 23 December.

Doxford Hall Hotel and Spa at Chathill, eight miles up the A1, prices its festive party nights at £44.95 per person on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 December 2026: prosecco on arrival at 7pm, three courses at 7.30pm, bar and entertainment closing at midnight. A classic double with breakfast and spa access is £179 on the Friday and £189 on the Saturday, which is the argument for driving out rather than staying in town.

Best for: Five shared nights across December 2026 between them. Near Alnwick, that is close to the whole list.

The big rooms

Past a hundred guests, Alnwick's answers are not hotels. Alnwick Castle hires privately, and its Guest Hall is the largest banqueting room in town: 180 seated banquet-style, 216 theatre style, 102 cabaret. Dinners start from £89 per person and business use from £50. There is no off-the-shelf festive package, so this is a quote per event. Bailiffgate Hotel opposite handles the beds and hires Mrs Bowmaker's Room for 10 and the Motte and Bailey Restaurant for 28.

The Alnwick Garden has the most flexible large space: the Pavilion takes 216 banquet, 180 for a dinner and dance and 350 standing, and private dining is quoted from £65 per person for parties of 50 to 200, welcome drink and three courses included. The elements price separately and cheaper: banqueting from £31 a head, buffets £24.55, drinks from £20.50. A live band licence covers dancing.

A room of your own, twenty to eighty

The Treehouse Restaurant is the Garden's other room, up in the canopy on cedar walkways with a log fire and two wobbly bridges. It seats 85, holds 110 standing, 65 for a buffet, and is let on minimum spend not per head: £1,000 Sunday to Thursday, £1,500 Friday and £2,000 Saturday for the late-afternoon-to-midnight dining slot, or £2,500 for an evening event hire. From 16 November it closes Monday and Tuesday and does lunch only on Wednesday, so December Thursdays to Saturdays are what everyone is chasing.

Adam and Eve on Clayport Street takes private hire for up to 50 and runs a festive set menu through December for parties of six or more, pre-ordering compulsory at twelve and over. The Cookie Jar on Bailiffgate, a converted convent, hires its Bistro out privately and will go to exclusive use across eleven bedrooms. Alnwick Rugby Football Club at Greensfield hires its clubhouse out and is the value option, but publishes no capacity or festive package.

When a table will do

Most Alnwick employers need twenty covers and a short walk home, not a ballroom. The Plough in the Market Place serves a festive set menu from 18 November to 31 December, £32.95 for three courses and £28.95 for two. The Dirty Bottles on Narrowgate has the cheapest published festive menu in town, £24.95 for three courses or £21.95 for two, running 12 November to 3 January, £5 a head deposit, pre-orders from 21 October. Lilburns on Paikes Street puts up a Christmas menu each year without publishing a price, and The Oaks Hotel on South Road takes functions alongside its twelve bedrooms. The Hog's Head Inn on Hawfinch Drive is the largest inn on the edge of town but publishes no function room and no party night for 2026, so bookings go through central reservations.

The country houses, and the drive

Alnwick's grandest private rooms are not in Alnwick. Charlton Hall at Chathill does meetings for 20 up to conferences for 160 on a private 150-acre estate, with dining rooms to 140 and beds for 86. Newton Hall at Newton-by-the-Sea does exclusive use with 21 boutique bedrooms and 27 garden rooms. Ellingham Hall to the north and Guyzance Hall on the Coquet to the south hire exclusively too.

All four are wedding venues first, so you are comparing quotes and the number is hire plus catering plus rooms. All are a fifteen to twenty-five minute drive out on unlit lanes with no taxi passing, so either everybody stays over or somebody books the minibus.

Before you pay the deposit

Check the capacity against the layout you are booking: the Pavilion's 350 and its 216 are the same room and two different parties. Establish what "drinks included" means: an arrival glass, wine on the table and a bar tab are three products at three prices. Ask when the bar closes, not when the music stops, and get cancellation terms in writing.

Getting everyone home

Alnwick has no railway station of its own. The nearest is Alnmouth, four miles away on the East Coast Main Line, with no taxi rank and no cab office, so anyone travelling by train needs a car arranged in advance. The X18 and X20 link the station to Alnwick in ten to fifteen minutes, hourly Monday to Saturday, but that is a daytime service. A December night out here ends in a local taxi, and the town's firms are committed weeks ahead.

Best for: Book the venue, then book the way home. In a market town in December it is the taxis that are scarce, not the tables.
