About The Plough

The Plough is a historic coaching inn at 24 Bondgate Without in the centre of Alnwick, dating back to 1896. The Georgian building has been lovingly restored as a boutique pub with rooms, blending contemporary comfort with a traditional hunting-lodge aesthetic that runs through the interior in features such as stag lamps and Chesterfield-style leather seating.

The kitchen emphasises locally sourced ingredients, including fresh seafood landed on the North East coast and game from regional estates, served across a menu spanning breakfast to evening dining with British classics such as fish and chips and steak pies. The bar carries an extensive gin selection alongside wines, beers and spirits. Upstairs, seven individually designed en-suite bedrooms are equipped with Nespresso machines and welcome cookies, and the inn also offers bespoke wedding packages including a bridal suite.
