About Leo

Leo is a Thai and Pan-Asian restaurant at 17 Clayport Street in Alnwick, opposite the town's bus station, which opened in 2024 and quickly built a following. It is co-owned by Abdul Salaam, who is behind the Alnwick restaurants Mumbai Flavours and Sherkhan, together with his uncle Abdul Muhit, and the kitchen is led by Num, a chef from the Buri Ram region of Thailand who began cooking as a child. The result is an authentic Thai focus with the potential to broaden into other Pan-Asian cuisines over time.

The menu centres on Thai dishes such as Pad Thai, Massaman curry and Tom Yum soup, alongside stir-fries, noodle dishes and Asian street food, available both to dine in and as a takeaway. Its central Clayport Street location, a few minutes' walk from the market place and Alnwick Castle, makes it an accessible spot for a relaxed lunch or evening meal, and it has become a welcome addition to the town's growing range of independent restaurants.
